Painting rims

Hi,
I'm thinking about painting my rims black instead of the stock grey/aluminium color they have now.

But what needs to be done?

Sanding, priming and painting and what else ?

shot blasting and then powder coating them would be a much stronger option and isn't that expensive.

if they are still laced

Going around each spoke nib with tape if you are painting.

I would go with emersion anodising or coppering if they are stripped down. Copper weather interestingly (blues and greens), but pay for a least a 5 micron layering.

Or black chrome (chrome and something else) still shiny but dark.

Or anodize them a different colour.
