Spare Keys??
I have lost my spare keys and red key, who can i get a replacemnet?
|
Sadly not. You are in a bit of a pickle now because the Red Key is the one which is used to program additional spare keys and also to communicate with the ECU re the programming of new keys, you are looking at an expensive full replacement of the 3 keys, the ECU, the ignition barrel and even the seat lock barrel.
Better looking for those keys in case you've misplaced them somewhere. |
Nope the broke in and stole safe with spare keys in it?

The difference between the red and the black ones,,, is that the red ones is single code and, they say, its for life... in the other side the black ones are set to every code you need but in time it may loose (forget) the code and need re-registering. To do that you can use the red one or the other black ones, but only red ones will have it(thats what they say) for life, thats why you save it in a good place,,,
So my answer is , that only yamaha can give you the red one... |
I found these a few years back, it might be a cheaper solution for you. I did contacted them & they say it will work on a XT660X 2004 to present as all the XT immobilizes are the same.
I have seen them on Ebay from time to time. http://uuctech2010.en.made-in-china.com/product/QqPnYRwuIeUf/China-YAMAHA-Bikes-Immobilizer-Emulator-YAMAHA-Emulator.html You can clone Yamaha keys ay certain locksmiths. |
