1st service help?!

As you all probably know the 1st service is at 600miles, im am yet to have my 1st and im at 750miles. because of them being fully booked and my work, i cant have my 1st sevice untill next monday and by then i will have over 800miles on the clock... what im getting at is, is it bad to do more miles than the given 600 for the 1st service.

Ben.

the first service is really an inspection....and an oil change...as long as your bike hasnt got nuts falling off it...PERSONALLY... i wouldn't worry at all.

just make sure you get the oil change /service done/ booked up....and carry on riding....

You will be fine at 800 miles to do the service. I would run some spanners over the bike to make sure every bolt is tight.

You'll be fine, my g/fs Divvy6 went in with just over 1000 on the clock. My mates F800GS had over 1400 on...

As before as long as you run a spanner over the main bolts you should be fine. Just ride the bike gently like it says in the manual, gentle revs, no harsh acceleration etc etc

600 miles is just a rough gide. I've just had my 1st service, and was told that anything between 500 to 800 miles would be fine.

as said check everything is tight, i lost my rear taillight cover in the first 400 miles on my first XT (bought in 2008) becuase of arguements with the dealer i bough it from mine wasnt serviced until it had over 1k miles on it and was fine
