DNA Announces a new performance filter for the XT1200Z Super Tenere

PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION ON THE PRICE

I have just been informed by DNA that the email below contained a slight error in the pricing, the price which was given originally was net of income tax, it was infact the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) which means that is the price sent to retailers before VAT or the equivalent for each country is added. On behalf of DNA we are sorry for the inconvenience.

The final price to the public is €67.85 as you can see on their website e-shop here: http://www.e-dnafilters.com/Product.asp?ID=1408. Of course if you buy it directly from us, there will be a guaranteed 10% discount. But don't forget the usual P+P costs are added as per the e-DNA website because of the fact that these filters are sent via UPS secure couriers directly from the factory in Greece within 4 working days guaranteed.

---------------------------

We proudly announce the official release of the P-Y12E10-01 DNA air filter for the Yamaha XT 1200 SUPER TENERE 2010.

This New filter features DNA’S advanced FCD (full Contour Design), this innovative design by DNA allows the filtering material to follow precisely the contour of the air box and uses the complete air box surface as “active filtering area“ eliminating “dead spots” that cause turbulence, increasing air flow and filtering efficiency.
Installation of the filter is very easy; simply follow the information that can be found in the Yamaha owner’s manual.
The filtering efficiency is extremely high at 98-99% filtering efficiency, with 4 layers of DNA Cotton.
(Filtering efficiency is the amount of “dirt” the filter can maintain (stop) and protect the engine efficiently. For example the DNA Filter for every 100 grams of dirt that it will receive, it will hold 98-99 grams, this applies even to fine dirt as small as 5 microns.)
The flow of the filter is +46,6 % more than the Yamaha stock paper filter, at 204,7 CFM (Cubic feet per minute) @ 1,5” H2O compared to the stock filter at 139,6 CFM.
This DNA filter is designed as a High flow filter for Road and off-road use

Capt doesn't stock them, but seeing at he's the webmaster here and promotes the DNA products, if you message the Capt first before buying DNA you might be able to get a slight discount in doing so.

With that much extra airflow isnt it going to need the fuelling adjusted? or do DNA think the stock ECU/lamda sensors will cope (though I suspect these only operate up to a certain RPM/throttle % and after that a fixed map is used)?

Thanks for your enquiry, I will pass these questions to Dino Nikolaidis and hope to get him to reply here if he's not too busy. Let's wait and see. Thanks

I've seen some reports by Aussies on Advrider that stock the bike runs rich at higher revs/WOT and even with exhaust and filter changes they've ended up with PCV maps that lean out the fueling in these areas. Dynojests own maps pull fuel from WOT areas maps here http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander/powercommander_v.aspx?mk=15&mdl=359&yr=22-041&pcVersion=PCV&PartNum=22-041

Note these were with K&N filters which probably flow less air than the DNA but still more than stock
