SW motech gear

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has the SW motech bash plate. How good is the waterpump protection on it? Any close up pics? Also the SW motech crash bars. How do they connect and do they offer decent protection?
I have the opportunity to get both of these at a good price but want to make sure they will provide the protection I want before spending up on them.
Cheers
Rory

I did gave it a proper crash test 2 weeks ago:

and it got through quite well. A bit bent and dent, pump still in one peace but the hose was knackered.

Thanks for the pic. That's the kinda information I was after. I found out that here the pump is about 400 to replace but the motech guard is only 200 so it will pay for itself after one fall.
Looks like there isn't much that would have prevented the hose damage in that pic. It's cheaper to replace a hose than a waterpump.

Looks to me like the Bash Plate would benefit from being a bit bigger and covering more of the water pump and hose.

Does anyone know which crash bars/bash plate combination offers the most protection for this vulnerable looking area?

How's about something like this?

Don't have one myself, but it certainly looks like a sturdy bit of kit. From Adventure Spec

It's actually the bash plate and the bars that are one item.

I have the B&B bash plate,

offers pretty good protection and I went the extra distance and tested it with the Motorad crash bars as well

You can see the bike up the top of the photo just been righted. Went into the log and rocks at pace (was being stupid :100:) Bike stood up really well recommend the B&B bash plate and crash bars. Bent the mount bolts on the crash bars.

End result for the rider

Do you have any pics of how your crashbars mount to the bike TB650?

I think the ad ven spec combo has to be the best out there.

I know I am saving pennies up for it

... well... I've crashed mine many times on all sorts of ground... even before I used the bellypan. It's not that easy to crush your pump.
