Cheap GPS
 

I needed a GPS for the bike as I am now in France and getting lost here is quite easy. Looking at the TT and the Zumo I really couldn't aford the �150+ pricing especially as I already have a GPS for the car and a spare one from the missus's car.

So. I bought a bike bracket off Ebay for 99p and a crocodile clip lighter socket for �2.99 and a bluetooth headset for �8.00 and Hey presto it fits my spare Navman perfectly. Not waterproof I'll admit but a resealable freezer bag took care of that in the rain (which I tend to avoid anyway).

Bang on.

Only difference is my Go910 stays in my pocket most of the time - I like to get lost and then find out where I am.

I have 3 different trackers (nmea loggers) to help me ('cos they run Linux of course).

It will be interesting to see how long it lasts before the vibrations shake the circuit board apart.

I was just about to say something like that. Fantastic idea, I love the DIY approach! I wonder if you can make some sort of vibration damper for it?

I used the same navman just with the original sucker, sucked onto the screen and it did stop charging because of vibrations. But it turned out it was just the charger connection was iffy, so I bought a new charger and still use the same Navman in a Givi sat nav bag. I use a marine 12v socket �2.99 ebay.
