Camping in Europe

Had a little camping trip recently and thought you might like to see the pics. I got the ferry from Dover to Calais, then rode up to Bruxelles to stay with my mate.

Waiting for the ferry.

After fighting my way through the M25, I was pretty fed up by the time I got on the ferry. I stuffed myself with Beef bourguignon, vegetables and rice and perked up a bit. But when I rode off at the other end I was smiling my ass off!!
Anyway I stayed with my mate for a few days in Bruxelles, then headed off through Luxembourg, to germany.

Whilst riding in Germany heading down the Rhine Valley, a guy on a Super Tenere flagged me down and motioned for a drink. So we pulled into a bar and had a chat about Teneristas, as he called us. We had a drink whilst the German v Argentina match was on.

While we were having a drink he phoned his Mrs and when he got off he said it was Ok, if I wanted, I could stay at his house and have something to eat and drink and he would show me some routes on his maps!
I declined as I just wanted to get camping after staying at my mates, but it was really nice of him to ask. Saying that I don't know what he and his misses had planned for me!:hae18:

After leaving Boris I got stuck in a village, surrounded by Germans celebrating their win to Argentina, waving flags and beeping their horns.
So I decided to get the hell out of Germany and headed for France. I rode over the hills on dirt tracks into a forest near a place called Dentersstrae and decided to stay there the night. So I camped there the night and listened to the cow bells tinkling.

The next day I headed down the trails into France and West across France to Autun. After a night of roughing it, I decided to stay in a campsite for the night for some luxury and struck lucky when I realised it had a pool. Just what I needed for my sore arse!! But it came at a price. 24 Euros a night! I didn't care at the time though.

I then camped at the Chateau de Chenonceaux.

On the way home I picked up my new panniers from Roger at ARD CASES.

Hope I didn't bore you too much!

Good man

I also camp with a poncho and a hammock quality way to relax.
Good call on avoiding a saurkraut stuffing!! Hospitable though it was, and 99% chance you'd been 100% fine...
You just never know.
