Gutting Stock Baffles?
Hi guys,
has anyone done a little modifications to the stock twin silencers on a 660R to help "raise" the exhaust tone slightly? I don't have 4 grand or more lying around for aftermarket cans, but would like a little more volume to aid in traffic splitting.. Was thinking about drilling off the pop rivets on the back of the cans and gutting them slightly, re-popping the end caps back on.. Would like to know if anyone's already done this, and what the success rate was? pics? regards Al |
Try this... and post the result.

Ive read on here somewhere that a select few have tried it. Popping the rear end off is suppose to be easy enough but doesnt allow you to fully access the can that much so the others have cut the weld on the underside of the can to gain better access, gutted the can then rewelded it.

i did this on an 08 model 660r. I posted some pics and a rundown of the procedure in the exhausts section. soon as i can get my old nokia going again Ill do a rough db test and post the results. I still have yet to remove the actual cats but ill probably do that next week... but be warned- theyre loud when totally gutted!
