XT660.com stickers on swing arm

Hi all,
got my xt660.com stickers in the mail the other day and yesterday I was going for a ride with a few friends and thought the stickers should be on.

My idea has all along been to stick them to the swing arm, but they just wouldn't stick... Have you had any luck in this?

The swing was first degreased and then washed with soap and water, then just water and finally dried using a cloth.

I've tried giving it a hard rub before lifting the film but it comes up again all the time.

Perhaps it's just fit to stick on plastic?

X, R or Z ??

Which bike ?

I stuck on to the swingarm of the Tenere and it fell off! I think the swingarm is Teflon coated!

That would answer it, wouldn't it... It's a 2008 XT-R.
Pity, should have looked perfect.

I had mine on the swing arm no problem

if you want another set of 2, I can sort it out for you, just send me a pm. No problem.

But before you stick the new ones on. try another sticker first ( which I'll send you), if that doesnt stick then its not the fault of our stickers but your swingarm porosity and cleanliness. :evil5:

Actually, I find it hard to believe that it has anything to do with the quality of the stickers. Nor the cleanliness. Swing arm material/coat sounds more of a plan. But if it stuck on yours I'm quite puzzled.

What year do you ride Captn? I have a black swing on mine, but not really sure of the material of the coat.

I'll try the other sticker and some other if I can find one and get back to you.

I had exactly the same problem, thought they would look nice on the swing arm aswell. Ended up with one, stuck it on the screen..

Bike is too new to start trying things on chance. I'm too much of a perfectionist to be going trial and error mode :glasses2:.

Mine stuck no problem, not xt660.com ones but ones made the same way

Give it wipe over to get rid of any dirt ,spray on contact cleaner or similar then wait until it dissolves about 2-3 mintues ,then apply stickers ,mine stayed on even with jet washing

The tenere ones are slightly different as they are slightly curved and what looks like small porrosity holes (very similar to my ktm) so unless you glue them they wont stick

Well, I think I've cleaned it enough but I'll have another go!

Be original, try something different. Mine's on the right hand fork...looks pretty good IMO. I'll post a pic when I get home...
