XTR Aftermarket Exhausts
Hi Fellas
I'm sure this question has been asked before and the answer is somewhere on this forum but I shall ask again as I can't find it. What is the process for fitting aftermarket pipes to an XTR. I am looking at buying a set of Leo Vince Pipes and wish to know if fitting these will void the warranty, require dyno tuning (or will the ECU compensate) and work with the factory air filter. I ask as I don't really want to fit a DNA style filter. Would prefer to use a simple washable foam type, or even factory dry paper element if possible. Any thoughts/constructive comments will be appreciated. Cheers |
What year XTR do you have?
You can adjust your CO up by 10 & fit the pipes with no other adjustments need. The Pipes offer the least HP gain from all the mods on a XT660 & cost the most, you do get a good weight saving. As for the DNA filters I have used them on my XT's since 2005 & have ridden in the heaviest down pours with no problems. All the HP gains from this motor is mostly from the air box. |
Hi Kev
Thanks for the quick reply. I will be purchasing a 2010 model when they hit Aussie shores in a few months. Allready owed a brand new (2008) Tenere and actually think that apart from fuel range, the XTR is a better Bike. Will have to see what deal (if any) Yamaha cut me on a set of their pipes when I purchase new. Anyway thanks for the info. |
It is far cheaper to buy your cans from over seas.
