XTR tank bag options?

Have you lot found any good tank bags that work with the XTR? I actually found one by Teknic, but the magnet bits sit on the plastic rather than the metal tank, so it would work, but it's not perfect. The one on OTR is nice, but for 100-130 euro's I cannot be bothered, that's way too much money for a tank bag.

Any lucking finding one that works?

Wolfman

I bought an Explorer Lite from Wolfman. The bad fits the XTR very well with good carrying capacity. Have a look at this link.

Cheers mate. Love that bike of yours, that Akrapovic is my inspiration. On the wolfman site it shows KLR and Universal Fit, I assume you got the universal one? If so, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the info! I went to uni in Colorado, maybe they'll go easy on me in regard to shipping.

Yes that is the universal tank bag. it fits really well and doesn't need to be removed when filling up.
I have to say that I found Wolfman an excellent company to deal with. Their service and delivery is second to none. I ordered a duffel bag recently and it arrived in NZ a week later.
I'm pretty chuffed with the pipe too.:D
Cheers

thats the bestt looking xtr ive seen in a long while were did you get the exhaust ,,,,,,,,,,,

I have the Famsa one (slightly different model than the one on the OTR site). Bought it off an old forum member. It does work well, expands to a good size and can carry alot of gear. But it is annoying as you nearly have to unzip the bag off to re fill the bike. That and the price is way over the top.

Quality is good and ive used it quiet alot so cant complain as i only paid 45 :SpinHappy_15XK8L:

I was hoping to hear you found a reasonable distributor in AUS/NZ! ;)

Isn't that what you call an oxymoron?

No afraid not, we don't have a distributor here in NZ but with the service from US I don't think its a problem.

You've got a side-stand on the right! So I guess you bought it from a country that drives on the right... I like it!

One picture is the harness and the other picture is the bags. You get different sizes and they clip together. I beleive this one shows a US 20 and 2 x US10's. I have used them on my XT and they are very robust, flexible and waterproof.

I'm glad you got there first. I feel like a bit of a broken record sometimes when people ask about luggage and I just answer 'Kriega', but their stuff really is that good :D

Seen this for the first in ride/bike mag but they are pretty expensive for the harness. But i suppose if you buy the bags you can strap them anywhere. They do look nice and my dads got the bum bag one but fush me they are expensive:eusa_dance:

Agricon... I love yer colours.. tell me please, what tyres are ye wearing,, the look like Karroo`s , I like tkc80`s but yer front looks a bit knobbly fur road work...

afk40 09-09-10 00:29

what tyres have ye got on,???

maxwell123455 09-09-10 16:17

front looks like a tkc80 and rear looks very similar to the metz karoo but only with rounded ends on the knobblies (mine where squared)

afk40 10-09-10 02:15

I thought they looked more like Mitas or karroos

maxwell123455 10-09-10 10:01

after looking at the mita 09 tyres the rear looks more like that than the karoo. Saying that the karoo is still a good tyre, had a rear on for about 1k miles with around 100 miles of that off road, didnt have any problems at all and i took it through some really boggy, wet and muddy off road sections, along with dry stone/gravel sections.

afk40 11-09-10 01:11

Maxwell am thinkin o Mitas 07`s fur ma next pair...check them out.........
