Dreaded waterpump issue ?

Hello all

Looks like i may have a water pump issue.

There is a small hole underneith the water pump were coolant appears to be leaking out very slowly only when the engine is under pressure.

So could this be the same issue or could it just be a damage seal ?

Thanks

id say seal as gone.My dealer did it for me and said you can get propeller off (no nut on the end)without going into the clutch.I ran mine for 850 miles with it leaking .Cost me 50 and i believe most of that cost was the seal.
So if your dealer says its a big job its not .Kevs the man for more detail.

Thanks hopefully that will be the problem as should be able to fix the problem myself.

Roll on the weekend chance to take a closer look.

Thanks

P.S Kev can you shade anymore light on this matter ?

Seal, that hole is there on most bikes to avoid the leaked coolant going into the crankcase and get mixed with the OIL.

I would replace both seals (oil seal and water seal) and have a close look at the pump axis and replace it in case of damage.

You could run with a small leak as long as there is enough coolant.

have fun,

j.
