Fork spacers without Trolley jack etc ?

Guys,

Looking to fit my spacers today, anyone done these without jack ?

There will be 2 of us so was just going to use brute strength to take the load off

Get one of you to lean the bike over so it's supported by the sidestand and rear wheel, with the front off the floor.

That was the plan mate yeah, just wondering if anyone had done it this way before ? can't think of any reason why it will be more difficult etc.

Did mine that way when I installed my first set of spacers, put your bike on a box or use a car jack to take the load off the front end.

Lifting the front end by hand is the hard way.

Yeah slightly tough.. LOL. But by no means impossible :)

You need to hold it for a while though but i'm a big butch strong lad.

All fitted and ready for testing :)

Never said it was impossible, just harder.

What's the test report result?

Well i got out and did my usual commute home. I'm happy with how the bike feels, although to be honest i love the bloody thing anyway. Mid corner stabilty seems to be where it feels the most improvement. I didn't notice a huge difference on corner entry. but being honest i don't exactly push that hard on entry. Feels better on corner exit when getting hard to the throttle stop.

I'm really looking forward to getting out on it on track at the weekend. Even though i will be killed on the straights, i just don't care.

The more i ride the XT, the more i know it's 100% the bike for me. I get off it with a great big smile at the end of the end of the ride.
