Advice on repairing/polishing/painting new pillion foot pegs

Hi guys, since I got my XTX last year I have been religiously checking ebay for the newer style pillion handles and footpegs as the older style just wern't doing it for me, I wanted to put the cherry on my cake!

Finally, this month, I now have both! (I was surprised to find that the handles are plastic! Cost saving I suppose.) The footpegs however were from a crashed bike so have a bit of damage, some medium depth scratches (see pics).

I'm just after any advice as to how I can make them look a bit more presentable from you guys who probably have more experience at things like this than me. I have a dremel, perhaps gently take a few mm off around the scratches? File? Sandpaper? Also, does anyone know if these are painted or polished in some way?

Many thanks

Harry

I would use filler then rub them down and either respay them or get them powder coated. :048:
