Memjet module for Tenere?

I can get my hands on a cheap Memjet module through a friend. But it seems to be for '04-'08 XT-X and XT-R.

Does anyone know whether this will work on an '08 XT-Z? Do they use the same plug for the air intake temperature sensor?

Hi,

if you want a suggestion, don't use a Memjet module. Use a Kev mod. It's better and cheaper.

Some mounths ago, I purchased a memjet and I done many many test. it running good, but bypass completely the temperature sensor and practically, at the end you use a fixed value of resistance (about 6 Kohm). This value can't is right for summer like winter. I done very much test, I wrote also to factory that confirmed me my suspect.

So, now, I have modified the circuit in order to use Memjet like Kev mod. I assure you that run better.

I attached some pics of my mod to Memjet with the two use mode. In first position I use the Memjet like buyed. It means that I have a fixed value of 6 Kohm to ECU (about 2 Kelvin to display). In second position, I use Memjet in series to temperature sensor. It means that I have the resistance of temperature sensor plus a fixed (by me) value of 0,9 Kohm. (on display the real temperature minus 9 Kelvin.

I understood that you have a Tener, but I assure you that's the same like mine.

If you are interested in that, ask me, and I can explain better and also show you the mail that I had in replay to my doubt by DM meccanica (factory).

thanks for the replies guys. I could indeed go to the dealer to have the CO settings adjusted, but then I'd have to go back every time I want to try a new setting. The Memjet module or the Kev mod would allow me to test out different settings and adapt based to changing circumstances.

I'd prefer the Memjet module over the Kev mod as I can (hopefully) plug it in without having to cut into any wires, it doesn't void warranty and it will be easier for resale (as if I'd ever do that :icon_biggrin:).

gianni, can you give me some more details? I was under the impression the Kev mod and the Memjet module essentially did the same thing: fool the ECU by reporting a lower air intake temperature?

Yes both mods fool the ECU in thinking it is colder then it really is. The Kev mod can adjust with different ambient air temps the Memjet can not.

Thanks for clearing that up, Kev. Makes for a good argument in favour of the Kev Mod.

Don't get me wrong the Memjet is a good product it just does not tune for changing ambient temperatures.

I can buy the connectors to make the my fuel mods plug & play, I would have to order 100 of each at a time this would add an extra $10.00 to each mod. I could make my mods really fancy but decided to keep the cost as low as possible for XT owners.

When fitting my fuel mod you only cut one wire & join each cut wire into the connector block supplied, not hard at all.

One thing I can say, I am the only fuel mod maker that will show you exactly how my mod is made with before & after dyno runs & also offer full instructions on how to make your own Kev Fuel Mod for free if you have the skills.

Great Kev, You are the best !!!! :hello::hello::hello::hello:

Only one thing you said not convinced me........

DM Meccanica is an Italian factory. Memjet isn't a "good product". It's only a potentiometer. That's not so bad because it works. But....... in Italy Memjet is selled at about 140 Euro !!!!!!!!!!!! It's the more expensive potentiometer that I know. And why thay apply two connector, if they use only one ??????

I consider it a rubbery. Of course my personal opinion and responsability...

Ciao. :hello::hello::hello::hello:
