thanks a lot guys, i ask this because guy at shop scared me ... he told me it would be really increased... stupid **** :) i might rarest you guys later when i receive and fit them about fine tuning :) thanks again |
Hi, iShoe.
I think that with DNA filters (1 and 2), in order to optimize fuel mix, you have to enrich the moisture. So, the consumption, depend of how much you enrich it. By.:thumbsup[1]::thumbsup[1]::thumbsup[1]::thumbsup[1]: |

With the extra HP & Torque you need less throttle to maintain the same speed, then if you did not have the filters & fuel mod, so infact there will be very little change in fuel consumption. One thing will change your bike will go like hell with those filters. |
thanks Kev, I'm been flowing your work and posts on forum ;)
correct me if I'm wrong, fuel mod can be done with your mod kit or power commander? i think i read somewhere that 2009 XT has something changed so its really good in auto balancing fuel - again maybe I'm wrong. Or all i need to do is to flow this tutorrial ? http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=55 |
There is quite a few fuel controller these days.
Fitting a fuelling device almost fixes the surging, there are a few options. Hi,
this is my way in order to enrich the moisture. In the first position (MEMJET), we apply a fixed resistance of 6 Kohm. In the second position (MEMJET + NTC), we apply to normal NTC air temperature sensor, a fixed resistance of 1.5 Kohm. Of course the value of resistance is settable. I call it "fixed" because, after many test, are the best values. heeey thanks for detail answers, until i figure out which one will i chose i have another beginners question, since I'm out of money for next few months i was wandering can i use them without any powercomander / fuel mod thingy ? i guess i wont be getting max from my bike but will it harm it ? just for a month or two until money issue stabilize ? :)
|
Well if money is tight I would recommend you get at least a Kev mod for it, as you really DO need a fuelling device to adjust the A/F, speak to Kev send him a pm and take it from there. We don't just give you advice because we want to make money but we don;t want you to run a lean bike that can have disatrous consequences and if you want to wait for a PCIII or PCV then I would not fit the stage 2(3) filters until you have the powercommander.
|
no no i'm sure that you guys wont say it just so i can spend money on something i don't need, that's why I'm asking here in first place:) i don't trust sellers and mechanics this days... thanks again and i guess ill have to wait with filter installation :(

Thanks mate, no offence taken I get it all the time. |
Of course fueling costs go up with stage 1 & 2 filters 'cos' you're gonna be having more fun, and the more fun you get the more you want.:ninja:
On saying that I've not noticed my mpg go down much, if at all. :bricks: |
maybe i should send this as PM but i tough its better public because of further users... umm ok and back to topic :)
question for Kev, just to clear up some things in my confused mind :) installing aether your mod or powercomander will probably lose my warranty ? i have 2009 xtx with DNA stage 1&2 filters. your last version of mod is updated to work with this year? its this one http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?p=46222#post46222 and price is 100 AUS I understod steps of fitting the MOD, but how advanced is fitting of O2 Eliminator & a O2 sensor plug is it illustrated and idiot friendly :) ? ( ok i read that its on cd, but how hard and complicated it is ) sorry for being so boring but im really interested in it because of price and positive comments But still kind of afraid of going for it because my mechanical knowledge is minimal. Speaking/Reading abut things you don't know on second language is always harder :) and i guess you wouldn't mind shipping to Serbia... thanks for your patience and time |

question for Kev, just to clear up some things in my confused mind :) installing aether your mod or powercomander will probably lose my warranty? Mods affecting warranty. Just to clear up things, any addition to the wiring or any mod to a motorcycle will void warranty of the replacement part, if the mod can be proven to be the fault or cause of the failure of the component. i have 2009 xtx with DNA stage 1&2 filters. your last version of mod is updated to work with this year? its this one http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?p=46222#post46222 and price is 100 AUS On the 2009 XTX we are fitting just the fuel mod & leaving the O2 sensor still connected. 07/08 XTX & XTR we are still using the O2 eliminator. Price for the 09 XTX fuel mod is AUD$65.00. I understod steps of fitting the MOD, but how advanced is fitting of O2 Eliminator & a O2 sensor plug is it illustrated and idiot friendly :) ? ( ok i read that its on cd, but how hard and complicated it is ) You only need the fuel mod for a 2009 model. sorry for being so boring but im really interested in it because of price and positive comments But still kind of afraid of going for it because my mechanical knowledge is minimal. Speaking/Reading abut things you don't know on second language is always harder :) and i guess you wouldn't mind shipping to Serbia... I have sent 3 mods to Serbia they took around 20 working days air mail. thanks for your patience and time. Anytime mate. |
