What should I do with rusty wire wheels?

When I get engine wires rusted wheels and an image was dirty.
Gray paint I better be cleared?

Do not come on a proposal for rust?

You can replace all the spokes with stainless steel ones, or do it the cheap way by painting them.

maxwell123455 11-02-10 20:25

You need to get sandpaper and rub off the old paint and rust, then you can paint them. :icon_thumright:. Or buy new yamaha ones, but very $$$$EEEE. or buy stainless steel ones again $$$$EEEE

Or go for a rat look and leave them rusty. Ride the XT through a couple of winters and about any metal bit that can rust will have rusted.
No point in having shiny spokes when the engine paint is flaking off ;)

Yeah if you've got an orange colour bike, rusty spokes would match.:Gangsta2_9BI664:

Rusty steel round our way tends to look more cow pat brown... suggest a body work colour change to match :D
Or ona serious note once they are rusty then they will always look **** close up as they will have pitted and its a shed load of work to sand back to bare metal prior to rust treating and painting. So my money is on warrenty check with yamaha if still in time or stainless spoke rebuild . PS :pics now:

re you PM aseeker, (potentialy unfortunate name by the way here in blighty) I've not got a clue on colour to paint them if thats what you were asking. The originals I believe are zinc plated HTH.
