engine guards and Yamaha ally skid plate

there's a couple of discussions on here already talking about the best engine guards for the Ten. What I'm still wondering though is which ones work with the Yamaha aluminum skid plate?

Touratech informed me that their "lower engine guard" will not work with it.
the Givi ones apparently are in the same boat.

I don't know about the SW Motech ones, but I'd rather have less bulky ones; only protecting the bottom of the engine. The SW Motech ones also leave quite a gap for rocks to hit the water pump.

does anyone know of lower engine guards that can be fitted with the Yamaha ally skid plate and offer proper protection for the water pump.

(yes I could also go for a bigger skid plate that covers the water pump but those look really bulky imho so I'd rather first investigate the engine guard route)

the OEM yamaha engine guards maybe ? ;)

the 2nd version has reinforced front mounting I think so should be free from the know weakness.

forgot to mention that. Yamaha recalled all engine guards here in Belgium. New model will take at least 3 months to deliver.
If I haven't found another option by that time, I'll probably go for the Yam ones indeed.

They that's a very good info !!!

I'm fighting with the irish importer at the moment as he claims he can't get a replacement for the one I brought back to him for warranty exchange.

I heard that yamaha dealer had to order their accessories 6 month in advance :107::107:

Anyway, sorry for hijacking the thread :)

I must say I had a look around and the yamaha have (to me) the best appearance/effectivness ratio :)
