Quick Question: Air filter sealing grease

Hi guys, what sort of grease is recommended to put on the edge of the standard airbox cover or dna stage 2 to ensure a good seal?

Does it have to be a special grease or can it just be anything, as long as it makes a good airtight seal?

If so, would I be able to use vaseline?

Thanks

Harry

You need a grease that will not melt when the bike is parked in the sun, vaseline is no good.

I think you a forgetting that I am in England, we don't get sun! :tongue5:

Any suggestions on a brand or specific name?

Many thanks

Any wheel bearing grease should do.

Just to point out if you are buying a DNA stage 2 air filter it comes packaged with a little pot of grease for this exact reason. If you are getting the DNA stage 2 its not an issue unless you want to reseal a standard side case. Then I dont think it matters much as the standard side case is alot more sturdy in construction than the rubberised DNA stage 2.

Yes it is to reseal a standard side case.

Thanks guys
