me again o2 eliminator for power commander V

just ordered a power commander v and cable and switch, the dealer imformed me the o2 eliminator is still development for the tenere, anybody know what to fit or any advice would be great.

im guessing it would be pretty pointless fitting the commander with a o2 eliminator?

Glad that you have got your self sorted out, I take it that you won't need to to try my bike now @ weston

Just spent the afternoon with BigB ripping the cats out of the akro's, the first was easy 2nd one was hard, im still in the middle of it...

You may get a few quid from the scrap man if you have enough. Precious metals are fetching a high price just now. I guess thats why they were priced at 1000ish

Hi, did you just knock the "left" one straight through? How are you getting on with the "right" one? It looks to me like you'd need to open it up to do it right? Anyway, hope it works, I'll be doing it myself over the winter.

fozzy17 11-10-09 01:07

the left was pretty easy, used a long screwdriver and a masonery drill bit (a long black spur cheapo from pount shop) then knocked it out it come out clean, the right hand side had was harder, it involved drilling the rivets at the bottom end of the cab, pull the internals out, you are then left with the part with the cats in and a long baffle pipe, i had to cut the baffle pipe, then gouge out the cat, then re-weld the baffle pipe in place then re-rivet it back, the back pressure now is immense compared to how it was, no restrictions now, and a power commander on the way... happy days..

it looks like the yam akro's are around 650 to 700 and the akros that are not from yamaha (the ones without cats) are 1100 euro's so its cheaper to get the yam ones and rip out the cats..it can be done

Edited to add i reckon you could get away with doing the left one, as most of the gases would flow through the left side as there is no restrictions, i was going to only do one but thought i had time so would do two..
