On our RTW trip all 5 Tenere's had the new Yam crash bars, all 5 broke in the same place, on the front mounting.

For me there is no point in getting new ones, two of guys had them welded in place. The rest of us just left them broken

Duuuuuuuuuude! I guess this means you're home now?! How did it all go? Where is the ride report (I've been checking in to Russ' blog every so often) - I trust it was an amazing adventure?

Personally I've never seen the point of the engine bars (nor needed them), and I guess your experience of them proves they are of similar use to the proverbial chocolate fireguard?

I imagine the bikes are still being shipped home? Hope to catch up with you guys once you get your bikes back - maybe we need another Ace Cafe meet once I get back from Dakar too?

how the luggage perform? in two minds to go with the peli choice or go the TT zega pro route. any thoughts greatly appreciated

Good to see you're back, been following the blog as well. JMo, the engine bars are useful when you sling the bike down the road on tarmac, believe me.
