Aw no way man! You got lucky!

Few months ago when I had my 88 ZX10, I got it out to go to work. Put the sidestand down and the damn thing shifted back, sidestand fell into the gap between driveways and collapsed on top of me!

Had a couple of scares with the XT though where the sidestand wasn't down completely.

Luckily its much lighter than the ZX!!

Just because you checked the stand is down, doesn't mean it'll do any good.

I was in the wilds of Northumberland, alone at the gate to a , well bog is the best description, put the stand down, rested the bike and opened the gate.

In the 30 seconds I had my back turned the bike was horizontal, with the stand impailed into the earth. Took super human effort to stand the bike up again..... and a large 'chunk' of Northumberland
