Urgent- need new chain and sprockets,

hey all I need a new chain and sprocket set,

Is there any in particular people have found to be long lasting and particulary good on the X/R XT's????? i have done 10,000 miles on mine since september and the chain and sprocket are so dead I have to move my wheel back a turn each time I ride!

Also if i want to make my bike that little bit faster do i put an extra toothe on the front and rear sprockets?

taa all

Buy the best chain you can afford, a X ring chain is best.

m and c express in london do chain and sprockets but i bought a set from them and the chain was fine untill it just all of a sudden it just let go and got longer with every ride. At the moment ive a DID chain and it seems to be holding up rightly.

as for changing the gearing if you want more speed then the cheaper idea would be a 16 tooth from sprocket as its cheaper but ive gone down 2 teeth on the back sprocket (similar to a 16 tooth up front) and it allows you to sit at 75mph (gps) alot better but you do cut a good bit of your acceleration but im not too worried at the moment as im touring but when i get back home i think i will return to the standard gearing

B&C Express for the DID GOLD Chain

Supersprox 45 Tooth rear sprocket - steel teeth and ali body.

A little more expensive than stock factory fitted, but they will last much longer and look soooo much better

Drop me a PM if you want more info

Blimey!! :spanking[1]:

I've covered nearly 15,000 on mine and still they have only needed 'one mark' of adjustment..

I went out with nutter chris and believe me he rode the wheels off is bike,we were being held up by sportbikes in the bends we were jumping over hump bridges (clear view)he was pulling wheelies.I was runin in some new tyres on the griso which are truly run in now but Darren im please to report he did nothing silly when other riders were about in fact like Bear hes riding really well.I was happy ridin with him followin me he did nothing to worry me unlike the early days. http://www.xt660.com/images/icons/icon14.gif
