Anyone recommend a tailpack?

Hi all,

Has anyone got a tailpack they would recommend? I have the 2006 XTX. The tailpack doesn't particularly have to be huge as conveniently I have t'other half on his TeDiuM to carry the majority of the camping/travelling luggage.

But it would be nice to make a token contribution in the haulage department, and I could probably shove my work stuff in it rather than faffing around with my rucksack.

So doesn't have to be massive, but want one that will fit securely, easily and not melt onto my MTC cans.

Thanks,

Selina

Selina,

I have one that slips over the rear plastics where the grab handles are for the pillion passenger. Not sure if will be big enough for work stuff, probably not, but will hold locks/disc locks, drinks etc

I bought it from off the road.de for, well way tooo much.

Brand new, never been used.

Yours for 40 + postage.

drop me a PM if you are interested.

Cheers

WB

Thank you for the response WB, is it this http://www.off-the-road.de/uploads/p...che_big_02.jpg ?
If so no thanks, wanted something a little more substantial, such as http://oxford-shop.com/item3127.htm but not sure how well it would fit without trying it.
Cheers,
Selina

I've got a Kreiga US20 that is easy to fit and good quality. Cost 59 so not cheap but should last.

Another vote for the Kreiga kit.
I have a US10 that I fit for commuting each day, just big enough for my waterproofs, sandwiches, MP3 player and camera. Uses two straps that fit under the seat.
Think they also do a tank harness to turn it into a tank bag.

Been thinking of getting a US20 for a bit more capacity.

Thanks very much for the responses! Hadn't even heard of the Kriega gear so will look that up, better to pay 59 for recommended quality kit that 30 for some rubbish that won't do and just sits in the cupboard. I'd also not considered the rack option.... not required now but hoping to get abroad next year...

Hmmm choices choices :)

Cheers,

Selina

I've tried all sorts of things to carry a bit stuff on the back. Boxes, panniers, rucksacks.

Finally, I've settled for a Hien Gericke dry bag, It'll hold as much or as littel as you want to put in it, strap it down onto the rear rack and away you go...

25 for the bag.

but you need a rack!!

PS - I've just noticed that my fongers ahve stoppeds awoerking propper, tdsan

Check out the Ventura stuff made here in NZ. This is their 20ltr seat bag.

http://www.ventura-bike.com/products.aspx?code=SB0622

They also make a very tidy bag system which i've used for years on many bikes.

If you can't get it (at least for a reasonable price) in the UK, I don't mind sending it over. The Imola bag costs about 40 quid here.

The pics don't show it very well.....there is a pad that straps to the rear of the seat and the bag clips (4 of them) to the pad. Great idea, and you can even carry a pillion without removing the pad.

Try this link.

Try Oxford Lifetime on ebay.

Thanks for all the advice,
Gone for the Kreiga US20 after careful consideration, this has 10yr warranty, fully waterproof, expandable and adaptable if I go for a rack and panniers at some time, plus a certain amount of kudos. 57.99 inc postage from eBay.
Cheers,

Reviving old thread. Does anyone hav pictures of a Kriega US20+US10 mounted on an XT660? Planning on purchasing it for main tail luggage, plus a smaller pack roll mounted on the luggage rack.

Thanks in advance.

US20 and 2 US10's.

Very well made. Wouldn't consider changing. Sturdy waterproof and flexible. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/24/y2etu8es.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/24/agavypa8.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/24/e6a7u7ag.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/24/asuzeqe2.jpg
