OTR fuel tank now 1000

Hi,

The OTR larger fuel tank for the XTR has gone up by 90 and is now 989 -- without paint!

http://www.off-the-road.de/xt660.html?&L=1

I don't think anything I bought for my trip to Morocco managed to be on sale despite the credit crunch and now the aftermarket tank has gone up!

Someone's seen me coming!

Cheers,

Ian

Hello Ian,

We have a cheaper tank here in Brazil, look at this website: http://www.gilimoto.com.br/detalhes....25&produto=179

The company is trying to sell from Europe and USA, but I don't know if they have sucess.

I just send an e-mail to find more information OK?

maxwell123455 17-06-09 09:35

That OTR tank has always been highly priced, i wonder how many they sell in a year??

Robson that tank looks good, how much is that in Euros/Pounds, as im sure some people could organise it to be shipped over to Europe/UK cheaper then buy the OTR tank

Robson Jabor/SC 17-06-09 16:47

Friends,

I'm in contact with Gilimoto here OK?

The owner Giovana told me that the principal problem is the cost to delivery in Europe, that make the people desist of the negotiation.

Then, I say from her to give me all the costs to send one from Europe.

The price of the tank, the taxes (if exist), the price of transport, and any other cost to send from you.

As she send me, I'll come back to talk with you.

The tank for us is expensive (R$ 550,00 or 203 euros), but for you is very cheaper for you.

We'll talk again OK?

Robson,

That would be brilliant if you can get all that information.

I saw in the other thread that hono was having some trouble with gillimoto, possibly because there's some difficulty with paying outside of Brazil. That will be our next problem.

Cheers,

Ian

Hi Robson,

there are some german fellows that are interested as well, so we are here in Peru.

Any further information is highly appreciated!:signthankspin:

Evening,

Have you looked to see if Acerbis or Clarkes do an after market tank for the XT R or Tenere at all as they are around 275-350 for 12-25 litre tanks.

Not sure if they cover the Yam in question, but just a thought??

Cheers

WB

Hi Ian,
I don't know what's the problem to pay, I've been work in another company and we always receive payments for another countries.
I talk to her tomorrow, and I fell that she's a little bit afraid to send the tanks and don't receive the money, etc. (The Brazilian reality).
I say that she will receive first the deposit, the she'll send the tank, etc.

Now we're studying one form.

I can't send by myself, because the Correios (company that can transport the tank) needs that only companies send things.

But, I'll try another way... :rocketwhore:

The tank will be send to Peru?

Robson Jabor/SC 17-06-09 20:54

Guys,
Remembering that Gili tank has 22 liters OK? Not 26 like OTR.

I know someone contacted acerbis about a larger tank and they said they would consider making one out of plastic and then they came back with that they are making them but nothing ever came about from it from what i know.

203E is cheap is right. Im sure alot of people will be looking into changing there tank if they can get them in and around that price.

Robson Jabor/SC 17-06-09 21:29

Friends,

I'm looking for price of transport.

Can you give me your zip code to make a budget with the carriers?

Robson,

For me it would be international shipping to the UK. I think you said in the other thread that there were two options, a 5 or so days and a 15 or so days. The slow version would be OK by me.

Cheers,

Ian

OK Ian,
I'll see it...

InkaJoe 18-06-09 00:58

Yes. At the moment we got about 10 XTR here at www.perumoto.com.
We are doing organised tours here in Peru. A bigger tank would give us several advantages in our tour programs.

So i think we would order one first, test it and then go for it if it works out for us.

saludos,
Joe

Robson Jabor/SC 18-06-09 01:53

OK Joe,
To many guys has this tank here, and they say that it's very good for long distance.
I am helping then to sell the tanks, I believe it's a great oportunity.
See you...

InkaJoe 18-06-09 17:23

Thank you Robson!

I will come back to you.

joe

OK Joe,
Keep in touch.
O believe today or tomorrow we'll have the final cost to send the tank!

Robson Jabor/SC 18-06-09 21:23

Joe,
I have on simulation of price.
Tank = R$ 630,00 (This one has a lid with key);
Transport = R$ 100,00 (delivery in 11 to 16 days);
Total without taxes = R$ 730,00, or US$ 371.00 (Dlar US$ 1,79 now)

We don't receive more information about taxes, as I receive, I'll send OK?

And we have a little problem. We don't know until now if the transport is until the house or until the customs (anfndega - Federal Reserve in Brazil). In this case is possible that you have to pay one more transporte until you house.

Try to find some information in Peru and tell me OK?

Bye,

idf000 02-07-09 23:08

Robson,

Any news from Gillimoto? Everything always seems to go quiet. It's almost as though they don't want to sell their tanks to us non-Brazilians!

Cheers,

Ian

Robson Jabor/SC 16-07-09 19:48

Ian!
I come back this week, I was on a trip.
Well, I bought one of this tanks for me, with 22,5 liters, it is not so beatifull, byt is so good.
I come back to Gili negociation, then, we'll have more notice to you.

I want to tell you that they want to sell the tank for you, but, because we don't know the taxes to import in the destination country, and it can increase too much the price.

I'll do more tests and come back here OK?

Off course, I'll send some pictures of the tank in my bike.
