MTC Exhausts

Hi all,

I've had a browse through some of the posts and tried a search but didn't find anything about the MTC exhausts - apologies if this has already been visited point me at the correct thread.

These are on eBay for 260, I like the appearance and the price is right for me. I like the 2-1 Metal Mule too but the concerns on fitting and heat issues are putting me off a little, and I don't need the ground clearance as I have a CRM for off roading.....

Just wondered has anyone any experience with MTC?

Thanks Capt, I appreciate this site has a great deal with CCC, but I've been put off by the reports of delays and other issues. Though I do realise of course that people are far more likely to post about problems than to say 'Ordered, arrived as expected and on time'.

SelinaXT you are very new here, so bless you, you don't know me and the way I do things, I wouldn't sponsor a company if I didn't have 100% confidence.

Problems are always popping up with every manufacturer, we have had people here that have bought the most expensive Akrapovic (800+) exhausts 3 sets of these which have had cracked joints within few weeks.

However with :CCC: if ever there is an issue I am on the phone to the owner "pronto" to make sure he puts matter straight a.s.a.p. or else (and else means the end of our sponsorship, which would be a loss to him and not me)

So you can buy with confidence and join the 100's of other members in this forum who are happily sporting these cans.

I'll second that "100% confidence". Had the same carbon CCC's on my bike for over 2 years. No problems and first class service from them.

Many thanks for the feedback guys. However have plumped for the MTC's in the spirit of donating myself and my XTX to research. Well that and I don't want to own anything with even the loosest association to carbon fibre - from the days when people owned jelly-mould cbr's and would add weight in the form of carbon-fibre-look-alike crap to their bikes.
Sorry!

The St Mary's and All Saints spire is perfectly straight in a Einsteinian universe.

I applaud any unconventional/lateral thinking and congratulate SelinaXT on doing her own thing.

The spire referred is the famous 'crooked spire' in Chesterfield which may be straight in an alternate universe.

If I may repeat a quote used by Biker Biker in another thread:-

"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you anywhere." Albert Einstein.

Hi Dave,

I'm very very happy with them, came within two days, all required parts, fitted easily. Sound a load better than standard, as I only rode the bike for a few days before fitting these I can't really comment on performance as I was still getting used to the bike. And I've not had any other after market pipes on the XTX to compare to either.

But in short I would recommend, and would certainly buy again. Also take a look at Fuel exhausts - my partner got these for his TDM and is similarly very happy - they even came with some Kendal mintcake as they're manufactured in the Lakes! I'd certainly consider them.

Any specific questions feel free to ask I'll try to answer,

Cheers,

Selina

Cheers Selina

May well be chopping in the Metal Mule system for a set of these. The MM is very light (can't feel any difference in performance) but I find that the exhaust note does my head in on a long ride and after a 1000 miles Ive had enough and gone back to the standard, its such a flat monotonus drone. Yeh I know its a single but the twin exhausts just sound that little bit better to me. Been put right off CCC's after hearing of that companys bad customer service and the link pipes just look all wrong to me - very unflattering bend.

Well let us know what you decide and what you think, I know when I met Warren at the recent Dent meet he was very interested in what cans I had on having heard me turn up :) They're not offensively loud, although as per their website the baffles are removable with a couple of allen bolts (not tried it yet) and there is the lifetime warranty. I removed the snorkle and fitted Stage1 DNA at the same time as the exhausts, plus adjusted C0 + 10 (or was it 15?).
Best of luck,
Selina

Hopefully getting some cans in the not too distant. :angel8:These MTC ones seem to look a bit like the CCC's to me and the price seems very reasonable.
Also the ex owner of CCC should be offering some soon too. Dont want cans that are too loud as dont want to fall out with neighbours,:no[1]: as I often go to work at silly hours of the morning.:gbxtank:

ps Get the DNA stage 2 filter, now that does make a difference!:laughing9:
