Dry grass in bash-plate

As we are approaching mid-winter in the southern hempishere - the grass is really dry. Yesterday I was riding, and the dry grass in the bash-plate (belly plate) caught fire (by grace my husband was behind me and saw it - so no damage). But I want to know what are you doing to prevent grass from getting stuck. It is a standard yamaha bash-plate.

Never had that issue before but I guess that's because I never used a bashplate, I think you just have to keep an eye from time to time and make sure you clear the dry grass with an air gun regularly.

Never heard of this one before. Normally to wet over here in the UK for that kind of stuff.

You might be able to take the bash plate of and stick/weld on some wire mesh to the openings to try and stop the grass from sticking in the holes. Either that or you just make sure to ride through a few rivers everyonce in a while;)

It is already reported by another member. Don't know his name, but for sure I've read this before!

Dry grass in bash-plate

My husband did a few modifications to the bashplate in order to keep the grass out.
