SW-Motech toprack question

Guys, I bought a bracket similar (one big T shaped hole + one small hole) to this bracket:

for my XT660R. I dont want to buy a topbox, but want to make a baseplate that fits onto it, whereto I can strap/fit various things. I was wondering how the current topboxes like trax and kappa and give mount their adaptor plates to it. Does it slide into the big hole, and is kept in place with the small hole (bolt)?

Can any of you maybe post a pic of the bottom side of this adaptor plate?

Thanx

Only just seen this thread. Here are some close ups of random pics I've taken in the past. Hopefully they will be of use to you, other wise I can get some close ups over the weekend ;) It's a Givi plate btw, identical to the Kappa...

Denny That is exactly what I am looking for, could I ask where I can get this mounting kit & rack from?

Cheers

In the market for a new rack as well at moment, and cannot really find something that will give me support and structure i am after.
Will search net a bit for some pics.
But this setup seems to be very far back behind the saddle. Your support points is way infront of the actual rack, so loading this willhave to be prbably below 10-15kg.
Alot of your top boxes warns you not to laod above certain weight...too much stress on last nut at the back, and you either break the nut, or the frame will crack at the back.
Any idea sand hotos from people out ther for the XTR's?

If you have something similar hidden away in your garage you might consider this sort of heath-robinson job.
